How To Connect Webmail To Iphone

Webmail is an email service that is accessed through a web browser rather than through an application the way that mail clients such as Outlook does. Syncing webmail services with an iPhone is very easy so long as you’ve done the setup so that your iPhone has access to the webmail account.

Step 1

Press the “Settings” icon on your iPhone.

Step 2

Press the “Passwords & Accounts” in the “Settings” menu.

Step 3

Press the “Add Account” option at the bottom of the menu.

Step 4

The list includes Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and Other. Press “Other.”

Step 5

Press “Add Mail Account”

Step 6

Enter:
“Name” (this can be anything for you to remember the account by)
“Email” (this is your email account, eg: contact@mydomain.com
“Password” (password to your webmail account)
“Description” (this is for your use only to remember the account by)

Step 7

Make sure it is on “IMAP” at the top (not POP)
the Name, Email and Description should already be populated. Scroll down a little to “INCOMING MAIL SERVER” and enter:

Host Name: (this will be your domain name, eg: mydomain.com )
Username: (this will be your email address, eg: contact@mydomain.com )
Password: (this is your password for this email account )

Now scroll down a little more to the “OUTGOING MAIL SERVER” and enter the exact same settings as above

Step 8

Click Next at the top right and it will take you through to the next screen
select whether you would like to include ‘NOTES’ as part of this webmail account and click save

Step 9

Your all done!
now when you click your Mail icon (default iphone blue mail icon) you will be able to select your new webmail account.

When you first connect please allow some time for all mail to be downloaded to your phone.
